Since January
1986, Charlie Wilkie has made a number of trips to Cameroon, from
ten days to three months in duration. Visits have involved evangelism
in schools and remote villages; facilitating and overseeing YWAM
teams involved in church planting with partners in Cameroon; speaking
in churches, conferences, seminars and training programmes; practical
work for a Bible college, hospital and radio ministries; training
people, helping design and organise studio's for Christian radio ministry
and helping to raise and provide resources for these ministries.

He
has also facilitated the involvement of other individuals and ministries
in Cameroon from here in Scotland. Although able to support and effectively
plan together with people there from a distance, Charlie felt that
in autumn 2004, it was time to revisit Cameroon and visit key partners
including Rev Lazare Naida in Douala
and Kaah Abel Nyamka in Bamenda.
Travelling with Charlie was Richard Murray, also from Mossvale Community
Church and Pete Prosser who leads a small house church in Stewarton.
A busy schedule
was planned for their time there, including Charlie speaking at the
Leadership programme and Evangelical Missionary Alliance conference
including ordination / commissioning of new / pioneer leaders; meetings
with pastors and leaders.
(The EMA not only networks and supports ministries across Cameroon,
but also sends missionaries and teams into unreached parts of the
country and into neighbouring countries; it has a network of missions
focussed churches and new churches that have been planted as a result
of evangelism.)
They were also involved with churches and radio ministry in a number
of places and taking resources that have been given to help ministries
there.
