A detailed account of the history of the building
and it's congregations and ministers over the years is being gathered.
We would welcome any details, anecdotes, photographs or items of interest
which you or your family may have to offer. We hope to publish this information
as both a historical resource and a memorial to those who served in our
place of worship.
The foundation
stone of Mossvale Church was laid on May 20th 1882, opening on 15th May
1884 initially as a United Presbyterian Church. With denominational mergers
it then went on to be a United Free Church in 1900, and then became a
Church of Scotland in 1929.
In 1974 a congregational merger with North Parish formed Merksworth Church
on Love Street, and the building was put up for sale.

The doors were re-opened to Paisley's North End in August of 1975, after
a year's renovation
work
by the congregation formerly known as the "Happy Church".
Miracle
Pentecostal Church was pioneered by two brothers and their families, Pastor
Robert & Jeanne Chalk, and Senior Elders Hugh & Isabel Chalk.
From the 1990's
the ministry expanded with Hugh & Gail Chalk,
with Hugh becoming full-time Pastor in September 2003.
With the ideals and enthusiasm of the pentecostal movement,
our dedicated leadership team has brought us through three decades of
spiritual change in the church worldwide.
In November 2000 our fellowship celebrated it's 25th anniversary, and
to demonstrate the renewed vision and commitment of the leaders and congregation
to serving God by serving his people, Miracle Church was renamed MOSSVALE
COMMUNITY CHURCH.
In September 2003 MCC became recognised as a Scottish Charity (SC034871).
We hope to use this status to better meet the needs of the community around
us as we strive for excellence - our utmost for His highest!.
The church has experienced great blessings over the years. Countless numbers
have been saved and healed, guests have come from as North as the Faroe
Islands to as South as Australia. Many members have went on to serve the
Lord overseas, or pioneer more churches.
Pastor Robert Chalk spent many periods abroad, in both Eastern Europe
and Africa, as well as the USA, where two of his children Jeanne
and Martin are now ministering
in South Carolina. For many
years he taught weekly at Teen
Challenge's local Centre.
Pastor Hugh Chalk has been involved in short term missions in Romania
& Alaska, but his heart has always been for his home town. For many years
he was a director of the
STAR Project, a joint church and community venture, offering many
resources through it's drop-in centre for local residents, and in recent
years has taken up the role of chaplain for Scottish Premier Division
Team St
Mirren.
So despite international links, MCC remains a close-knit congregation,
situated in an area of high deprivation on the outskirts of Scotland's
largest town, Paisley, close to Glasgow Airport.
