The Royal Lancaster Infirmary Accident & Emergency Department is the
major A&E department for North Lancashire,
the South East Lake District and a small area of North West Yorkshire. A
Helipad was operational from July 2004. We have a sister Minor Injuries
Unit at the Westmorland
General Hospital
in Kendal.
The department sees about 42,800 new patients per annum, the summer being
the busiest time of year due to tourism.
