The department is currently involved in various
research projects. These include;
- Use of low dose intra-muscular ketamine (2 mg/kg) and side
effect profile.

- Use of activated charcoal in paracetamol poisoning for patients
presenting within one hour to A&E. Initial study looking at
glutathione (GSH) S-transferase levels on patients attending on
presentation - as a marker of early hepatic damage.
