Mrs S. Young
RGN TNCC Inst of Health Service Management
Sister Young qualified in 1990 from Blackpool and has worked in
the RLI since then. She was appointed as a Sister in 1996 and as
a Senior Sister in 1997. She has completed ALS, PALS and MIMMS courses.
She has an interest in Major Incidents and is a member of the Territorial
Army.
Sister Dean qualified in Nursing from Manchester Royal Infirmary
in 1975 and was promoted to sister in 1979. After taking a break
from nursing she was appointed as a Sister in this department in
1985.
Sister Willis started work in this department 3 years ago and became
a Sister in September 1999. She qualified from Royal Liverpool School
of Nursing. Since then she has developed an interest in Emergency
Care, in particular the care of the Trauma Patient.
Martin qualified in 1988 form Airedale General Hospital. Having
continued to work in Airedale he then moved to Chesterfield Royal
Infirmary before being appointed in Lancaster in 1998. He is an
ALS, ATLS and PHTLS provider.
Sr. K Horrocks
Sister Horrocks qualified in 1986 having trained at the Royal Lancaster
Infirmary, and was appointed in November 2000. She has an interest
in Mental Health Issues and is a keen member of the Territorial
Army.
Jimmy qualified in 1991 after training in Lancaster and joined
A+E 6 years later, becoming a Charge Nurse in Oct. 2002. He has
interests in medical emergencies and student training.
Ian qualified in 1992 from Lakeland College in Cumbria then
worked in the neuro surgical unit at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford.
He Joined the A&E department at Lancaster in 1994 and was
promoted to charge nurse in 2002. Ian has an interest in teaching,
childrens issues and is a setpoint ambassador providing local school
leavers with careers advice.
Sister Fitton qualified from St.Martins College in 1996. Emma started
working within the department in 1999 and became sister in July
2002. Her interests are in pre-hospital care and trauma.
Sue qualified in 1996 from St Martins College, Lancaster and was
appointed Sister in the Accident and Emergency Department in July
2002. Her special interests include:- psychology, health law, major

Sister Sweetman qualified in 1987 from the Royal Lancaster Infirmary
and has worked in various A&E departments, both in the UK and
overseas since 1989. She was appointed as a Sister in this department
in 2002. She is an APLS provider and a TNCC instructor. She has
an interest in pain management.
