We are glad that you have found us! We are a small but growing family of Christian believers and explorers with an all-age membership approaching 30 drawn from Harvington, Norton, Bidford, Alcester, Pershore and Dunnington.
Our fellowship was established in Harvington back in 1886 by Baptists from the nearby village of Atch Lench as a mission chapel. In 1986, after 100 years of continuous Christian witness in Harvington, we became a Baptist church in our own right. Throughout that time we have met in the original chapel building, the modest dimensions of which have proved to be particularly suited to our open and informal style of worship.
You will find a very warm welcome at our Sunday service of worship, which starts at 10:45am. On the first Sunday in each month, we celebrate Holy Communion, again commencing at 10:45am.
We understand that "church" isn't just about meeting together on Sundays and we actively seek to provide fellowship and support during the week as well. There is a regular weekly coffee morning and a fortnightly fellowship group which meets to share God's Word [see Calendar]. We also provide pastoral support to anyone in our locality who wishes to discuss a concern and/or be visited at home.
As we also like to get together just for fun, we have a lively social programme. A recent event was a "Ugandan evening" hosted by Andy and Jeff [see: Uganda 2007]. Our young people, and some who are not so young, are also regular attendees at the annual Greenbelt music festival in August. Keswick Ministries is another annual festival attended by a group of people from our church and youth project join some of the 12,000 other people from all over the country each July for the past few years. For a week we live under canvas but don't cook much! (the breakfast at Booths is too good) and hear some of the most dynamic teaching happening in the UK Today. We are going again in 2008 for the third week when the theme is Creation Chaos and Christ..
We have close links with St. James, the Anglican church in the village and together we partner the Harvington Youth Project and have shared in hosting a series of Alpha courses.
If you wish to obtain any further information about us, please get in touch with either our church secretary Lynn Merrick or our chairman of deacons, Jayne Nichol.
