Becky . . .

Hello - my name is Becky. I have lived in Harvington for most of my life. I haven't always been a Christian, I went to a catholic school and for most of that time wasn't really sure what I believed. I can remember asking the youth worker in Harvington lots of questions about God and faith and loads of other things that I didn't understand. I found it very hard believing in something I couldn't see, but all the Christians that I seemed to come into contact with had something that I didn't, I just felt I wanted to know the truth.

I remember waking up one day feeling fed up and thinking 'I'm going to sort this out today' and I flipped a coin. (I thought to myself if this lands on tails I'll give it a go, heads its my own way.) Well, tails it was! The first time I prayed it was strange! That was seven years ago! Its been the best thing I've ever done, I feel now that believing in God is the truth and I'm living my life to the full. My advice to anyone who is thinking about things would be to 'Go 4 it'. It is hard sometimes, being a Christian doesn't automatically give you a problem free life, but its worth it.

In September 07 I became Harvington's new youth worker, its such a privilege to be working with all the young people from the area (obviously challenging as well.....) I feel I'm now on the biggest learning curve of my life!!
