2008 Update

Harvington Youth Project is a charity in its own right (Registered No.1115838) and is constantly on the lookout for sources of finance to fund the program of support and activities that we aim to provide for the young people in the village.

In recent times the great majority of this financial support has been generated from various sources within the village itself but occasionally we are fortunate enough to obtain grants from government bodies.

In January 2008 the Project was delighted to receive a cheque for £1310 awarded by Worcestershire County Council.

The money was courtesy of Councillor Clive Holt through the Positive Activities Scheme and was made possible after a number of the young people had the opportunity to meet and present to Councillor Holt in person.

The money was earmarked for various items of new equipment including Giant Jenga, Indoor football goals, art materials and dance mats

Harvington Youth Project is a project for young people set up and run by the two churches of Harvington, Harvington Baptist Chapel and St. James Church. The aim of the project is to support and encourage as many young people in the Harvington area as possible. The project has strong links with Harvington First School as well as with other youth organisations at both local and national levels.

It employs one youth worker, Becky, who replaced her predecessor in September 2007. The project also has the assistance of volunteer youth workers, many of whom work with children as their paid employment.
