Guarantees

ALL component parts supplied to and by PC RELIEF are guaranteed new and unused. PC Relief have been dealing with our same main distributor for over 5 years now.

Despite offers from other so called 'cheaper sources' we remain with the this distributor because they have proved the ability to consistently provide quality reliable components.

The guarantee for any component is

1 Year Return to Base guarantee

With some components have a longer periods:

Screens can be up to 3 years and have On-Site warranty

With such good components we have no hesitation in giving guarantees on our components and PCs, and indeed because of this reliability we very rarely have to replace any component - which is both good for you and for us. We feel it too much of a risk to go to cheaper sources - so we'll stay where we are - with our current distributors.

Reliability and Quality

Large computer manufacturers like to imply that their computer component parts are of an higher quality and reliability than those supplied by small custom builders - this is NOT the case.

A Custom-Built PC is MORE likely to have a full scaled Intel chipset motherboard and a full Intel Pentium MMX or 11/111 or AMD processor. This is because many of the large stores/chains take PCs which have cut-down capability chips like the Intel Celeron. Most good custom builders would not want to offer lower capability components for their clients.

The custom-built PC may have a Western Digital hard drive (Western Digital pioneered the very first hard drives), or a Seagate, Quantum, Fujitsu or similar, all of which have excellent quality and reliability, thus this myth should be put to rest.

Indeed if the custom-builder is conscientious and diligent (as we are) then it can be said "Which would you rather have, a carefully hand built PC, or a mass produced, assembly line PC" - "tailor made or off-the-peg".

With the added advantage of a better price : quality ratio and all replaceable components (unlike mass produced Store supllied PCs with welded in components) - it should be obvious to any discerning buyer which is the best way to go.

Like any other product, if the buyer relies only on glossy mass media advertising, without attempting to find out more about the product - then it is only the buyer who suffers - whilst the big companies get bigger and less responsive to individual needs - and the advertisers grow fatter - be discerning, not gullable.

Finally.............Wherever you purchase computer goods from, never, never buy without an assured guarantee of goods being both NEW and warranteed. There are unscrupulous dealers (who simply trade components), who WILL buy and sell stolen, used or 'returned faulty' components.

You may save in the immediate term...but a few months down the line when the monitor or hard drive fails, you have not only lost your money but you have to lose even more by buying reliable replacements (what you should have done in the first instance).

- BE WARNED - ask about any trade source - asked to be shown an invoice or delivery note from that source (all reputable distributors/manufacturer's paperwork will show warrantee terms).
