Requirements
for putting up a web site:
- You need webspace
on a server, your ISP should offer this
- You need to create
a web page or pages.
- You need to send
the page(s) to your webspace
- You need to
register your web site address with search engines so people can find you
on the net.

Webspace:
a.
Webspace is space on a computer which you can call a ‘web server’. The server holds websites for hundreds or
thousands of users. Tiscali offer 50MB
of webspace free with any of their accounts. Go to http://www.tiscali.co.uk/services/webspace/

b. You can
get webspace from a Internet Service Provider for FREE but your website name
(often called a URL), is tagged on to the ISP domain name e.g: http://website.lineone.net/~mysite/index.htm
c. or you
could go for a domain name (e.g. Mycomputer.com ) with or without webspace. In this case the domain name is paid for
annually, and the webspace if offered is usually paid for annually or
quarterly.
d. If you
have purchased a domain name only without webspace, then ask to buy webspace
from the people who registered the name, or get FREE space from your ISP (see
b. above) and after making the site, ask the people who registered your domain
name, to redirect the domain name to your ISP’s webspace URL.

or join the BT Anytime service which gives you unmonitored calls for about £15
per month, then besides having FREE webspace, you can stay online as long as you
