The Mid-Sussex 18.83 Group is a small group of friends, with a common interest in building and operating finescale 4mm model railways. The club layouts (West Chiltington, Pulborough and Brighton Road) are all centred on the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway in the early years of the 20th Century. However, the interests of the group cover other railways, including the Great Western, the Midland and South Western Junction, the South Eastern and Chatham, as well as modern image.

We have members of both the Scalefour Society and the EMGS Society in the group, although we model only to P4 standards. We would like to think that we have between us a reasonable depth of skill on all aspects of modelling, from trackwork, wagon and coachbuilding, and loco building, to wiring and electrics, and scenery, to operation and the prototype. However, we could always do with a little more help.

We've been in existence for about 30 years, and during that period have built two exhibition layouts, West Chiltington, and Pulborough, and we are well on the way with the third, Brighton Road.

We normally meet on a Tuesday evening in Plumpton Green (near Lewes), Sussex. If you'd like to visit us to have a look at Brighton Road email us on midsussex1883group@lineone.net to make arrangements.
