brighpic6.jpg E1 no 100 viewed through the viaduct arch. The road serves the brewery to the right of the picture. There is a rail connection from the marshalling yard (to the left) into the brewery - just visible in the foreground.

brighpic7.jpg Another view of I3 no 22, heading for the coast with a train formed of 48' bogie stock, with a six-wheel brake at either end.

E1 100 trundles down the goods line towards the goods yard with a variety of Brighton wagons.

We had considerable difficulty with this bridge. It crosses the goods line at a very shallow angle, and is therefore very long. We tried various materials for the base (plywood, MDF etc) but they either warped or lacked bending resistance. We eventually settled on 6mm acrylic sheet, which doesn't warp, reinforced at the edges with 15x15mm aluminium angle, screwed into the acrylic. The cosmetic bridge sides were stuck on last. The columns, beams and lattice support are not functional, except for the column at the far left of the bridge (out of picture) which supports that end of the bridge.
