Westhoughton Sub Aqua is the latest member in the NorthWest to become a member of British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC). We were formed to enable members to decide the future of their own club.Our intention is to enable each full member to have a positive say in all matters that effect the club.We also intend to have a full Social side to our activities.All members of members families will be actively recruited to join in the fun. The club will cater for all who wish to join.We welcome starters and experienced Divers alike. The only criteria to becoming a full Diving Member are that you be medically fit to dive,over the age of 14, and be able to pass a basic swimming test. The Club meets every Thursday Evening at Westhoughton Leisure Centre starting at 20-15. Come along an d meet us in the Bar.Maybe arrange a try-dive. Our Qualified Instructors will be on hand to advise you.

Try-Dives. Usually your first introduction to diving will be in the form of a try-dive, this consists of giving you the chance to see if you can get to grips with breathing apparatus and feel comfortable in what is an alien environment. With the aid of one of our experienced instructors you will be kitted up and when you are ready be taken underwater.QAt all times he will guide you. THe cost for this experience will be 15 pounds. If you decide to join us half will be refunded. Full Membership annually will be 100 pounds. This includes all pool charges. As a Club we fully realise that Members come with partners, therefore they may become Associate Members at a cost of 10 pounds.They may use the pool on club nights at a greatly reduced charge. Adults £1.50and Children 75pence.As associate members they will benefit from all entitlements of B.S.A.C.

British Sub Aqua Club. This is our governing body. It promotes safe diving techniques and lays out to all clubs a set procedure that must be followed by all divers within its membership.It will ensure that you are correctly trained and will monitor via your instructors your progress from novice to however far you wish to progress.You will not be allowed to go faster than your instructor feels you are able. Remember he/she is not being paid to train you. They do it to promote their sport. You will be required to Join B.S.A.C. at a cost of 37 pounds.Remember this includes a Monthly magazine. Membership Administration ,and Membership Liability Insurance.a B.S.A.C. Qualification and record book will be welcomed and respected Worldwide.Your Qualification book will be accepted in all respectable dive centres anywhere you travel.
