Entitled "Streets Ahead", the CCN / CTC autumn cycle planning conference will take place at Warrington Gateway Centre on Saturday 12th November from 9am to 5pm, hosted by Warrington Cycling Campaign.
"Streets Ahead" will be an exploration of cycling in the urban environment and how to campaign for the better use of streets for the good of all citizens. The conference will look at, for example, traffic mix and mixing, planning and design, and gather campaigning lessons for the future from towns both here and on the Continent that are already ‘streets ahead’.
A special guest speaker will be Lutz Groll from the City Council of Hilden, Warrington’s twin town in Germany, where promotional measures have led to a staggering 24% of in-town trips being undertaken by cycle.
Further details will be posted on the CCN website soon, www.cyclenetwork.org.uk
