6. Michael FITCH was born on the 4th of January 1794. He was Baptised on the 28th of January 1794 in Baddow Lane Old Chapel, Chelmsford. Baddow Lane Old Chapel or Old Meetinghouse-Independent, Chelmsford, Essex, England (starts 1759) (C067151)

Michael's family is speculation based upon the second family in Great Baddow. The family names are compatible with Samuel's and consistent with the ir both being sons of Edward. Given the name of the second son, it was reasonable to suppose that Mary's maiden name is Ingham and that her father's name is William. There is a Mary, daughter of William Ingham and Sarah.

Michael names first son for wife's father?, first daughter for his wife, third daughter for her mother? and his mother; second son for self and his father.  Suggests that her parents will be William Ingham and Susannah or Sarah. (There is a Mary Cowell Ingham born 14 Nov 1808 and Christened on the 11th of December 1808 Epping, Essex, daughter of William Ingham and Sarah). They also had Mary Cowell Ingham 1808, Harriet 1802, Eliza 1804; died 1st of July 1810, Catherine 1800, William Broake 1799, Susannah b 1811, Sarah 1806, IGI C041991

1840 census -- High St. Chelmsford HO107/325/8 Sch. 32, page 11 gives Michael Fitch, draper, with wife Mary C. and children Mary, Susannah, Sarah, & Edward as well as Catherine 2 and Frederick 4 months (latter two not in Great Baddow chapel records, so perhaps family moved around 1838?

There is a Laura Ingham Fitch born Chelmsford 1849, 2Q -- looks like some kind of relation.

Mary Cowell INGHAM was born on the 14th of November 1808 in Epping, Essex. She was Baptised on the 22nd of December 1809. Children of William Ingham and wife Sarah of Epping (IGI C041991): Mary Cowell Ingham 1808, Harriet 1802, Eliza 1804; died 1st July 1810, Catherine 1800, William Broake 1799, Susannah b 1811.

Sarah 1806 Michael FITCH and Mary Cowell INGHAM had the following children:

1881 Census for 42 Baker Street, London gives Mary Fitch as head of household, unmarried, age 49, born Chelmsford occupation Dressmaker.  Her sister Catherine, age 42 also a dressmaker, lives with her, along with three other dressmakers and a servant.
17 ii. William Ingham FITCH was born on the 5th of April 1833 in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. He died in 1838 in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. (IGI: C067151) Death: FreeBMD Chelmsford, GRO reference Jan-Mar 1838 vol 12 page 2[20].

18 iii. Susannah FITCH was born on the 21st of June 1834 in Chelmsford, Essex. (IGI: C067151) FreeBMD -- A Susannah Fitch d in Chelmsford Sept 1841. No age given.

19 iv. Sarah FITCH was born on the 4th of December 1835 in Chelmsford, Essex. (IGI: C067151).  FreeBMD: A Sarah Fitch married Solomon Porter in Chelmsford, GRO reference  Oct-Dec 1859, vol 4a page 222. However, according to the census, Solomon's wife Sarah was born in Stock, Essex, so is not the right Sarah.
20 v. Michael Edward FITCH was born on the 20th of December 1836 in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. (IGI: C067151)

21 vi. Catherine FITCH was born about 1838 in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. Not in Great Baddow Parish records or in FreeBMD.
