Public right of way claimed |
A claim has this week (May 1st) been lodged with Gloucester County Council that a public right of way exists across the land on which the Cardales were hoping to obtain planning permission to construct a 'Country House'.
The claim is supported by statements from many people, both local and from further afield, who for many years have walked the track across the field .
The track itself is shown on the OS 1:25000 Pathfinder Series ST89/99 running east-west below Conygre Wood from Grid ref. 8017 9325 where it joins the bridleway to Grid ref. 8085 9325 where it joins the road.
Click here to display an OS map with an arrow marking the eastern end of the right of way where it joins a bridleway. The western end of the right of way is about 600 metres directly to the east at the junction of the south-east corner of the wood and the road.
Test borings and marker posts indicate that the site of the proposed house is to be around Grid ref. 8045 9325 which is on top of the right of way.
If you have walked the track or know of people who have please click here to contact us to add your weight to the case for the public right of way to be formally established.
The appearance this week (May 1st) of padlocks on the gates at either end of the public right of way is assumed to be associated with the claim. |
