These pages relate to a proposal now submitted by the Cardale family for REFUSED planning permission, to build a very large house similar to the artists impression pictured above, in a very beautiful valley in Bagpath, Gloucestershire. The area is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which should afford it some protection against development. What makes the valley rather special is that there has been no development in it for a few hundred years and there is no road through it.

However I have found the text of the competition objectives and the design requirements on this Spanish Site. Unfortunately there are no pictures. It does make interesting reading to compare the design specification with the current proposals. Perhaps there is more to come !!

On the 6th November the Planning Committee voted 12 to 4 to accept the case officer's recommendations to REFUSE the application on the four grounds detailed at the end of his report. See below.
