In July 2000 the follow up to Hello Sailor was finished and named Telegram for Mungo.

Test subjects exposed to the melodious strains of Telegram for Mungo have described it as "phat", "dark", "phat and dark" and even in one case, "dark and phat." Even people engrossed deeply in arguments have been known to stop at its conclusion and remark, "Yeah, nice album Rog," after only a little prompting. A little bit less stupid than its predecessor, Hello Sailor, Telegram for Mungo (working titles for which included: Uncle Herman's Underwater Sounds; Misery, Insanity, Ignominious Death and Dirty Puppy) saw a marked improvement in production values without any of the serendipitous botching of Hello Sailor being lost. Guitars are a bit more in the forefront this time around, really growling in places and in others sounding like they're being beamed in from outer-space.
