Pre - Assessment Organisation

  • Assessments need to be registered at River House 28 days prior to the proposed assessment

This allows certificates and medallions to be sent out to the Teacher/ Trainers.

Forms are available from the Branch Awards Officer, online at www.lifesaversdirect.co.uk/documents or from River House

  • Teachers / Trainers arrange their own Assessors

  • Branch Lifesaving Coordinators will supply a list of Assessors to Teachers / Trainers for reference

Assessment

  • The Life Support part of the syllabus is exactly the same as the existing Life Support 1 award

  • The Bronze Medallion syllabus has minor changes to the "old" version. These are:

a) Section B, Test 4 - the distance swim is reduced to a 20 metre approach with a 20 metre tow. All

other requirements are the same;

b) Section B, Test 5 - the time requirement has gone. The surface dive is to a maximum of 1.5 metres. The "casualty" is deemed to be breathing once landed, and so can be put into the recovery position without further simulated rescue breaths.

  • At the assessment candidates will receive their certificates, signed by the Assessor, together with the medallions upon successful completion of the award

  • Assessment forms need to be sent to Awards Officers within 14 days of assessment
