An Elizabeth Whiter was born in 1847 in Bethnal Green,her parentage

was unclear,now the certificate gives Thomas as father!

She next appears in the 1861 Census when she is visiting her Aunt and Uncle.

Her being a visitor stops us locating her origins on that census


An Elizabeth Whiter marries John Frogley Darby  in 1867.

Father described as James,which means thare is another Elizabeth to be found!

Described as a Fellowship Porter

Fellowship Porter A kind of uniformed bonded messenger, vetted for honesty etc before admission to the Guild of Fellowship Porters, to whom they were accountable. You could trust your valuables to them for transport from your London office to another warehouse, shop or office

Has Elizabeth Darby on Fourth August 1869
at 151 Quilter Street,Bethnal Green.

No other children have been located yet! But possibly at least two more.

to Charles Cooper   aged 25    Licenced Victualler

Witnesses   Henry Whiter   and  A Nicholls (possible Whiter)

Both fathers are listed as "deceased"

Either Charles had his sister-in-law helping or Sarah is in fact Elizabeth

Her Mother(Elizabeth Darby) is not recorded anywhere but could have been helping out.
