Greetings
Our only interest was the person that Francis James Darby married.
--Sarah Ann Mansfield
Francis was the brother of my great grandmother Elizabeth.
Assorted information is on our site:
http://uk.geocities.com/elizabeth_darby_family
There is some thoughts ( by others) that the Mansfields married into Hugeneots
but the corres that I have so far is on the site.
If i get a chance next week i will see if I can sort your string ,first by dates
and then to
addresses in Bethnal Green area.
david
We do need some dates and info from certificates since
there are more families involved than you thought!

Subject: Mansfield connection
Hi
My grandfather was Will Bert Mansfield.
His father was John Henry, son ofJames,
James's father's name is William!!
If I am reading
your notes right,
The Thomas Mansfield you have in your family tree,
was my great great grandfather's brother.
1840
My Great great grandfather's name was James Benjamin Mansfield
his father was William,
he married Eliza Marchment
her father Thomas Marchment

Francis James Darby (23) married
1886 their son John Henry married Amelia Bishop,
marriage 1886 q4 Stepney vol
1c page 889 abt 24 y.o.?
then
John and Amelia emigrated to NZ.
John was born in Bethnal Green,
James married in Bethnal Green, as did John.
It is too coincidental, same names etc.
Please get back to me so we can compare further notes, as this is the
missing part of my family tree.
Thank you

The thing is, my grandmother always said that her mother Hannah ( Ursula)
said that when her mother Sarah Ann Mansfield
married
Francis James Darby it caused a family rift.
Her mother never saw any of the Mansfield's - it was always considered
that
Sarah Ann married beneath her.
She always said that the little bit of Green in Chingford called Mansfield
Park
was named after the Mansfield's!!
Not sure any of that rings true with the information I have above!!
I have written to the Chingford Cemetery to try and get some details from the
church.
18th May
Hannah Darby born 28th November 1869 married Joseph Erridge (born q2 1872 West Ham)
at Walthamstow,Essex date not known
Joseph died aged 82
Harold Francis Erridge was born 1899
Another child is Alice Ursula Erridge
Hannah's sister Elizabeth (1872)
apparently went to Canada during the war (Boer/Gt War?)
and had two sons William and Frank
