LAND-ROVER SERIES 1 - MINERVA

The MINERVA Land-Rovers were built in Belgium, in a town called Minerva!! They were given a licence by Land-Rover to build their own vehicles for their military authorities. They used the standard 80-inch Land-Rover chassis, and the 2 litre engine, along with many other parts. The body was constucted using only steel instead of the aluminium used on British built vehicles. The body was also a different shape, most noticably being the sloping front wings. They didn't have the opening ventilation flaps on the top of the bulkhead, under the windscreen, either. |
| They had their own grille on the front, and the indicator lamps and side lights were right at the bottom of the wing, above the bumper. The Belgium factory also had their own (very big!) badges to put on the grille of their Land-Rovers.
