Kate Bush

"music made for pleasure, music made to thrill"

Kate-from the cover of the album The Whole Story. Kate Bush is arguably one of the most innovative and original artists this country has produced. Her albums have all been distinctive and display the poetry in music that is her hallmark. Impossible to categorise in any genre type she has consistently delighted her fans in the breadth of her work.

It is without doubt a great pity that she is recording very little these days, but rumour has it that a new album will be released later this year. Since she burst onto the music world with a number one single on her first release at the age of 19 she has also from Live at the Hammersmith Odeon revolutionalised live performance by being the first to incorporate dance and live vocals together in a major concert, using state-of-the-art technology in headset and microphone allowing full freedom of movement in performance. This was first seen to its fullest effect in her legendary concert at the Hammersmith Odeon. Since then she has been voted Britain's most original artist several years in succession and has performed with many of the world's top musicians and vocalists. The never to be forgotten "Don't Give Up" with her close friend Peter Gabriel is arguably one of the most emotionally evocative tracks ever recorded. A mother now since the birth of her son in July last year, we can only hope the rumours of a new album this year are true.

In this page I have provided links to several different sources of further information and some that give access to multimedia content. One of my own favourites is a site which has quite a few MIDI sequencer renderings of her most popular songs......Enjoy.
