The Hyde Gardens
Welcome to The Hyde!! It is now a BUPA Residential Home, but was once the home of the Gundrys, a famous Bridport family, who made their money selling rope, twine and sailcloth to the British navy. Whilst the home was in the possession of the Gundrys, they created a series of wonderful gardens, typical of the age. The crowning achievement was the Woodland Garden, which became neglected after the Second World War and was only recently rediscovered in the Nineties and renamed the Secret Garden!
