Mark 1v15 ... The opening words of Jesus' Galilean Ministry
The time is fulfilled ...
Jesus came to earth at the appointed time not a moment too soon or too late... Gal. 4v4
The time is also fulfilled for us to come to salvation, if you do not know the Lord Jesus as your Saviour and Lord then come to Him today don't put it off for as the Bible says...
Behold now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation 2 Cor. 6v2.
The kingdom of God is at hand ...
or, the kingdom of God has been brought near, within reach, made accessible to us.
The veil in the temple signified that our iniquities had separated us from our God... Isaiah 59v2, but when Jesus died on the cross paying the price for our sin, the veil was miraculously ripped in two from the top to the bottom and the way was made open for man to come in and fellowship with God. When we believe in the death and ressurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him into our hearts as Saviour and Lord, He cleanses us in His blood, causes us to be made new or, born again, and brings us into fellowship with Almighty God!
Repent ...
The true meaning of this word is to have a change of heart and mind which leads to a change in behavior and life-style, to have a sense of remorse for our sins and to turn from them and to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, seeking to please Him and to serve Him.
Believe in the gospel ...
Anyone can say "I believe in God" but to believe in the way the Bible speaks of means to trust in, to cling to, to rely upon. Many may say they believe in God but how many trust in Him, cling to Him, rely upon Him? If we are to be saved we can do nothing of ourselves, we must trust totally in Jesus, in His cleansing blood, in the power of His Holy Spirit. This is the gospel, or the good news! We can be forgiven, we can be cleansed, made new as we come to Christ and trust in Him. He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
