A day on a local loch in May 2001
A selection of wild brwon trout, seatrout and Artic Char.

The area has an abundance of lochs where wild brown trout can be fished. Fishing permits are very reasonable and can be acquired through the The Old Inn or from local angling clubs and estates.

Although this area is better known for the game fishing there are some fairly large pike around as the photo shows. Ian Thomson, a local businessman, is seen here with fine 17lb pike taken from a local loch in November 2000. Pike are not regulalry fished for and locals have seen specimens of over 30lbs.
