A LANCASHIRE GARDEN TRANSFORMED

Summer has arrived. The lovely warm summer days and the long summer nights provide the ideal time to enjoy your garden.

It was not always like this, as when we first moved into our house
10 years ago the thought of having time to relax and enjoy the
garden appeared to be a million miles away.

I couldn't believe it when I first saw the garden, how could the
previous owners live in a house for 4 years and not even attempt to develop the garden. Such an opportunity lost.

HAVE A LOOK AT WHAT I MEAN!!!

TO TOP IT ALL THE SOIL( WHEN YOU EVENTUALLY FOUND IT )  WAS CLAY AND MUDDY !!

SO HOW DID WE TACKLE THIS MAMMOTH
                                                         TASK?

With a little bit of money to spend we asked a local gardener to come and give us some ideas and help. His idea was to divide the garden into two, with separate lawns, and a gentle slope
between them.

Within a fortnight he had brought in a mechanical digger and took off the back fence in order to bring the digger into the
garden. The weather was awful during this time and each day we came home we noticed only a little progress.
