There are several things one must do when you're about to go abroad. For the Capitol K team these generally included:

• Pack all bags and equipment, including 'The Machine' and lots of electric boxes.
• Check we all have our passports.
• Bake some cheese scones.
• Check we have the train ticket.
• Make sure we vaguely know which direction we're going in (down and to the right).
• Cut Monty's hair, then forget to remind him to change his shirt so he goes to Brussels covered in hair cut-offs.
• Pack car and set off.

Motor way driving is a funny thing. It can silence the most talkative of people. The tunnel came to the rescue. It's a bizzare experience, sitting in a stationary car yet travelling at high speed underneath the sea in a long metal box.
