ASHBURTON HASH HOUSE HARRIERS
Essential Etiquette for Hash Hounds with 4 legs!
Hashers bringing hounds to a hash and are asked to consider the following. These guidelines are designed to minimise rabid outbreaks in the undoggy:
- Please be aware that not all hashers share the same canine bent.
- Keep your dog close to you or on a short (2m) lead particularly until the hash spreads out and when in built up areas.
- In the dark, provide some method of making your dog visible or audible.
- Avoid dog under foot syndrome particularly in proximity to the dog-o-phobic.
- Either hold back or get ahead of other hashers to avoid K9 congestion.
- Try to time yours dog's bowel movements to avoid narrow paths or re-groups and try to remember to bring a plastic bag.
- You may wish to check that you are insured against third party claims arising from your dog's actions.
- Finally a plea to the undoggy to forgive occasional lapses – perhaps it's as well, when non dog-lovers are running in a small group with a dog owner, to allow the dog owner to the front of the mini-pack so saving all consternation and anxiety.
