| BEETLING - Jan 1958? to Aug 1982
This A5 size magazine started as the Newsletter of the VWOC(GB). It could be argued that the 'VW Driver' magazine of today has a longer history than VWM. Paul Harris the editor of Beetling magazine, that's 40 years service. The magazine was issued to members of the VWOC(GB) and could br bought over the VW dealers counter and the independent VW traders such as Autocavan. The start seems to be January 1958 unless you know different. The picture is of the last issue (August 1982) before it became VW AUDI Car. |

| BUG POWER - Sept 87 to June1993
Though the dates suggest there may be a load of issues, there were in fact only 22 printed, with the last two being double issues (21/22 and 23/24). Though only containing 16 pages they were crammed with information on tune-up's for the Beetle. The editor of this magazine was Neil Birkitt who later went on to VW Motoring then VW Driver magazine. |

| dubSCENE 2002 -2004 The magazine is a 'grass-roots' publication. dubSCENE. This magazine followed much the same path as TotalVW. It wasn't until the end of 2004 that most of the subscribers had been re-inbursed. This magazine disappeared from the scene leaving many unhappy subscribers who spent a long time trying to re-coup their subscription. It all concluded but the people involved left with little credit.

| FL4T - Jan 98 to Mar 1999
The magazine was actually in print before 1998, but that was very much the learning days. The magazine probably started in 1996 and begun to grow into a magazine that format that we know of today. Initial it was a way of advertising your VW and was handed around at shows. Then in 1998 the publishers decided to formalise it by releasing a No1 issue (see picture). The magazine was then re-named so that it could be more easily recognised on the news stand to TotalVW. |

| TotalVW - Apr 99 to Oct 2002 This magazine has continued to improve and now is in the same league as Volksworld. Strictly aircooled. Contains articles on the technical, VW events and 'feature' cars. Back pages are classifieds with plenty of Beetles and advertising is free. Click on the picture to visit their site. Tries to represent the grass-roots sometimes mixes it up with being 'groovy'. An excellent read all the same. No longer in production. Last issue was October 2002. Disappeared quickly without repaying peoples subscription leaving many unhappy. Volkswagen Camper and Commercial is owned by the same people. |

| VW AUDI Car - Sept 82 to May 2000
This was a magazine that tended towards the watercooled side of things but carried some fascinating aircooled articles with interesting facts. The series of articles covering the range of VW/Audi engines, is a must for those hunting the elusive timing marks on their 1980's cars. Model profiles etc give an insight into the model ranges. Fot the technically minded there are explanations of injection systems and the superchargers etc... The magazine continues today as VW Driver. |

| VW Safer Motoring - Nov 61 to Jan 1985
The name Safer Motoring often caused difficulty for the publishers, because it would be bought by people thinking it was a driver safety magazine. Only to find when they got home it was full of VW cars. Very much the backbone of the VW scene in the 1960's it was the source of information for the enthusiast. The magazine changed it's name in 1985 to VWMotoring. (Pictured is the last VW Safer Motoring). The first editor was Robert Wyse until Jan 1982 when he passed away following a short illness. Jan/Feb issue of that year was never published. From 1982 Robin Wager held the reins and eventually became the publisher. |

| VWMotoring - Feb 85 to Sept 1998
In 1992 Robin Wager sold the publishing onto Warner Group. The magazine had become a glossy page magazine by the time Neil Birkitt stepped in July 1996. Neil Birkitt was the editor following the departure of Robin Wager. Neil had been the driving force behind the technical publication BUG POWER. 1998 on, has been censored at the request of David Corfield |

| VWM (formerly VW Motoring, Safer Motoring).
Oct 1998 to Aug 2006 Presently edited by some true enthusiasts of the marque with articles on both air and water cooled VW's. Contains articles on the technical, VW events and 'feature' cars. Back pages are classifieds. Advertising of spare parts is free. Sadly ceased to be in it's 45th year. E-mail: vwm@warners.co.uk This magazine originates from Nov 1961.
