Many people in the village took part in the consultation process which has been extensive and repetitive.
The consultation process in itself was excellent. Displays were presented, workshops were held etc etc etc. The only problem is that nobody has taken the results of it into account in their designs.
The main thing the villagers wanted to see were:-
An appropriate amount and mix of houses - definitely not more than 250.
Help for existing businesses
Improved infrastructure ie roads, paths, cleaning, drainage etc
Leisure facilities, especially for children
Environmental improvements in the existing village
Quality green space. Turn the page for what we appear to be getting, it will give you a laugh if nothing else.
A decrease in HGV's. The planning permission granted to RJB named Allerton Bywater as the preferred route' What a shame we had no opportunity to comment on that.
