Allerton Bywater Action Group

So far this is what we've got:-

"Essential site safety works and works to colliery offices, including ongoing site security and estate management"  £725,000

A potted History of
Allerton Bywater

The devastated community!

The works to the colliery offices has been carried out even though they have no prospective tenants  and on the latest plans they appear to be refurbished again!

The offices do not get a mention on the English Partnerships regeneration web site.  Is  there any wonder they have found them difficult to lease?  In fact the whole of the Allerton Bywater site barely gets a mention.

"Site clearance and site remediation" £2,925,000

The site clearance and site remediation involved the digging up of the concrete and dumping hardcore even though Ian Keith of English Partnerships has advised us that "I have been advised that the contamination found at the Allerton Bywater site does not represent a serious concern to public health"

"Site Safety" £725,000.

"Phase I environmental improvements" £110,000

"Footpath and cycleway" £350,000

That must be quite some cycleway mustn't it !

So a grand total of  £4,110,000 of taxpayers money and for what?  Come and have a look at it.  We'll be putting some photographs on here before long if you can't make it
