Trip to Canterbury/Margate

10th July 2005 . Tickets for this trip will be 10 pounds per person plus each person will be issued a raffle ticket. This is a chance for Akanthiotes to get together and talk about the good old days.

• 5th August Vespers ( Swthro )at St. Anthony and John the                     Baptist Sussex Way Holloway Road.
• 7th August Pilgrimage to Woolwich
• 1st October Get-together
• 15th October Tea Party – arrange for a speaker to come along
• 19th November Disco at St. John the Baptist hall, Whiteman Road
• 4th December Tea Party
• 15th January 2006 Vasilopita Party

For the above dates there will be more details nearer the time.

Please note: March for Cyprus 16th July 2005. 4.45pm outside Whitehall,
6.00 pm at Trafalgar Square. We hope that this will be the last time and that next time we will be back in our villages free from the Turkish army.

Anglo-Akanthou Social Club

The Anglo-Akanthou Aid Society’s social club is open to all members , friends & fellow villagers. Come along and socialise with your friends playing Tavli accompanied with your Cyprus coffee while watching T.V. programmes from Cyprus & Greece or just come along to give us your support.
At the moment the club is open on Fridays & Saturdays.
You can use the social club for private function it can cater for 80 people or more. There will be no charge for the use, but your donations towards the Anglo Akanthou Aid Society will be most welcome.
