FEAR OF DESIRE

An introduction to the work of Philip A Absolon by Julie McNamara

Jenny Pearson, Writer and co-editor of the recently published "Well-Tuned Women" brought Philip A. Absolon's work to my attention and I am delighted to be able to reprint some of his poetry here in DAIL. He is extremely dry, earthy and moves swiftly between mischief-maker and Machiavellian. Above all, it is Absolon's passions exposed and raw, spread before us, that move me most. His work excites me because he is a shrewd cynic in his observations of human relations and yet he manages to remain vulnerable. Hangman Books, Kent have at last published his work. "Fear of Desire" represents his first poetry collection, 'translated from the dyslexic' and interspersed with his own illustrations.
