Chester Hockey Club is located at Upton Recreation Centre, Plas Newton Lane, Chester. Telephone No: 01244 318168 Changing rooms are located in the Recreation Centre. Games are played on two artificial pitches at the outside facility across the road. This is connected to the Recreation Centre by a footbridge. |

The Club was founded in the 1948/49 season at County Hall, thanks to the efforts of a member of the Treasurers Department who managed to get together just enough players to form a team, which was registered under the name of Cheshire County Officers Mens Hockey Club. There was already a Ladies Team at County Hall which had been playing for a couple of years.Both teams had the use of two grass pitches at the original County Offficers Sports ground at Newton Lane, Hoole for many years.The original fixture list for the mens team included mainly local Service teams and some of the larger employers in the area who financed multi-purpose Sports clubs. As the popularity of mens hockey grew, the Club was able to field further teams, and fixtures with all the leading Clubs in the area were added to the list.In 1975 the move to the new County Officers Club in Plas Newton Lane heralded a further increase in membership, and with additional playing facilities and a modern multi-purpose Sports Club, the Hockey Section grew over the years to 8 mens teams, 4 ladies teams and junior teams.The completion of the first astro-turf pitch enabled the Club to enter into Northern League Hockey, and the recent addition of a second astro-turf pitch provided the Club with playing (and social) facilities of a very high standard. We are embarking on an ambitious 5 year plan to achieve Natonal League Status and are looking to attract sponsorship from businesses or individuals to assist in achieving these aims. Sponsorship can be provided and recognised in a number of ways, for example: Provision of a Pitch Side Hoarding, prominently displayed on the side of either or both pitches. Team shirt sponsorship, £500 per team....your name on the shirts Team Name Sponsorship, £50 per team...your name will feature in all press reports, fixure bookings, newsletters and league sheets. Fixture Book Advert, £30 small £50 large ..every club member receives these once a season Newsletter advert, £40 small £60 large..every club member receives these up to 6 times a year. Matchball sponsorship, £5 game ..the home game will be dedicated to you and the press report will acknowledge your generosity Any other additional personalised sponsorship packages can be considered. |
