Ladies
4ths vs Neston 3rds – Lost 1 - 4
Chester were unfortunate not to have
come away with a more positive scoreline in their game against Neston 3rd X1,
their first game for 3 weeks. Neston held most of the possession in the first
half, scoring all four goals through strong attacking pace. The second half
saw a better performance from Chester, with Jess Egan scoring Chester’s goal
from a well timed pass from Jane Parkyn. Despite a slightly depleated team,
Chester showed great defensive strength, and Jenny Gaskell in goal received
player of the match.

Ladies
4ths vs Macclesfield 4 – Won 1 - 0
Chester travelled to Macclesfield on
Saturday for the last league game of the first half of the season. Chester made a good start with only 8
players starting by converting an early goal with Amy Edwards hitting the
backboard. Chester held the Macclesfield attacking play throughout the first
half to keep the score Chester 1 Macclesfield 0. The second half saw Macclesfield restructure to create more
openings and shots which the Chester Goalkeeper and defence were able to keep
out of the goal. The last 10 minutes gave Chester many opportunities to
secure the win with breaks from Jane Parkynn and Amy Edwards who were unable
to convert. This left Chester with
the winning score line 1-0 to add an additional 3 points in the league, which
is a great lead up to a Cheshire Cup game on Saturday 13th December.

4ths vs Neston – Draw 2 - 2
Chester Ladies IV kept their good form over the weekend by
gaining a draw against Neston III’s.

many opportunities to score, after this continued pressure Chester were able
to convert a set-play short corner through Juliette Old. This left the score at half time (1-0).
The second half saw continued pressure from Chester with no success. Neston picked up the momentum and were
able to convert 2 goals into the Chester net, one goal due to an unfortunate

defence with a well timed goal from Janet Garwood. Chester maintained this momentum till the final whistle and
took away a very unlucky draw (2-2).

Despite a depleted team at the

Ladies 4ths vs Timperley
– Won 0 – 0 at full time then 2 – 1 on flicks
The first round of the Cheshire Cup
was a hard fought game against Timperley who are two divisions above Chester.
Despite this Chester looked the stronger side throughout but failed to
convert their chances into goals. At the end of full time the 0-0 score line
led to 15 minutes extra time with no progress. Then the game went to penalty
flicks. Chester’s little experience of ever taking flicks was made up for by
some outstanding goal keeping from Jenny Gaskell who got player of the match.
Chester ended up winning 2-1 and are looking forward to the next round in a
few weeks time.
