Boys U15's lose in National Final

The boys U15 team were beaten 3 -6 by Winchester in the Final of the National Plate on Saturday 8th May, After a Tim Davies goal from a short corner Winchester scored with two minutes of the first half remaining. Chester struggled to regain their shape in the second half and Winchester scored a further three before Matthew Tottey pulled one back followed by another from Tim Davies again from a short corner. Chester pushed hard for a deserved eqaulliser but while doing so Winchester scored twice to make the final score 6 - 3.

Mens Vets lose 2 - 7 to East Grinstead in Final of National cup

The Mens Vets team were beaten 7-2 at Harleston by a very experienced East Grinstead side who fielded many ex-international and county players. Chester however deservedly won the first half, the score at half time being 2-1, with goals from Tony Nicholas and Chris Thomas. In the second half East Grinstead changed gear and scored 6, partly becuase our key player Chris Thomas had to leave part way through the half to catch a flight to Nigeria. Goalkeeper Paul Williams won "man of the match" and then returned home from Suffolk by a chartered helicopter. Special thanks go to Keith Roper for his organisation and to all the supporters who have turned up at each game and the many who travelled to Suffolk.
