::Configuration::
The primary configuration entries controlling translucency are:
HKCU\Software\geO\geOShell\ShellUI\Use Alpha Blending
HKCU\Software\geO\geOShell\ShellUI\Alpha Blend
"Use Alpha Blending" can be set to 1 or 0 to enable/disable Alpha Blending. Some users have reported problems with Windows Media Player when Alpha Blending is enabled, so use this registry to turn it off if necessary.
The valid values for the "Alpha Blend" DWORD range from 0 (invisible) to 255 (fully drawn).
Set this value and recycle the shell to change the translucency.
::Plugin support::
The
geOFader plugin displays a scroll bar which controls geOShell translucency without the need to recycle.
::Hotkey support::
The Win-Z hotkey automatically reduces the geOShell translucency from it's configured level to 0 (i.e. makes the shell invisible) and then restores it the next time the hotkey is activated.
This is cool.
Then you can link this hotkey to a mouse key (look
here to see how) and then use your mouse to hide/reveal the shell.
This is also cool.
Note that for hotkey support to work you must have the following registry config:
HKCU\Software\geO\geOShell\Services\Hotkey\szIDs\Core_Fade=Win_Z
HKCU\Software\geO\geOShell\Services\Hotkey\uIDs\Core_Fade=132
::Restrictions::
Windows 2000 only.
