C07 Inspecting Officers

INSPECTING OFFICERS

1. Inspecting Officers will be selected by the Camp Convenor in consultation with the CO and Participating Company Captains. They will receive training on marking from the Adjutants whilst at Camp.

2. There will be four Inspecting Officers per daily inspection who will mark, in pairs, BB & GB lines of tents.

3. Appointees will be Warrant Officer or above (or GB equivalents).

4. They shall be briefed in the marks system by the Adjutant who will advise them of standards expected before giving them the Tent Marks Books.

5. Their individual duties at Inspection are to:
a) Report to the Adjutants at the call for "Warning For Parade".
b) Call upon the Tent Commander to call the tent members to Attention.
d) At the given time they will mark each tent to the set standard for:
Personal cleanliness and behaviour whilst being inspected
Groundsheet (in or out of tent) and kit are laid out "in keeping" with the other tents.
Care of Canvas and acceptable standard of hygiene in tents
Guy Rope Tension and Toggle Direction
Tent Pegs are in the ground at the correct depth and angle
Main Pole Storm Guys are positioned correctly and are pegged to the correct angle and depth.
Brailing is rolled up correctly and tied off as per instructions (either up or down)
The Tent and its Boundary is clear of any litter or any type of foreign matter
Neatness of Personal Kit and Uniform (on Sundays) laid out as per Tent Commanders' Handbook.
Clothing, footwear, wet towels, etc. are arranged in or out of the tent as per instructions.
e) Attendance Marks will be maintained by the Sergeant-Majors.

The Inspecting Officers are accountable to the Adjutants.
