TRANSPORT OFFICER (Programme Team)

1. CO-ORDINATION & REVIEW OF TRANSPORT
a) will co-ordinate with the Programme Chair, Adjutants and C.O. (and Safety Officer, if appointed) on strategy and other transport matters and, as a member of the Programme Team, is responsible for:
b) to review the number of available drivers at camp including authorised minibus drivers.
c) will co-ordinating passenger requirements and organising the transport for the Camp to and from events.
d) will allocate passengers to vehicles.
e) will ensure that drivers have log books recording passenger names, destinations and times.

2. LEGAL REQUIREMENT CHECKS
a) that all drivers are in possession of a valid license for driving the particular class of vehicle and are insured for that vehicle.
b) that all drivers hold copies of insurance and MOT certificates for the vehicle they are driving (also applies to mini-buses).
c) that all vehicles have a current MOT for the duration of Camp (Saturday-Saturday) and that all vehicles are road-worthy.
d) that private vehicles used for transporting any Camper are also MOT'd and insured.
e) that all minibuses carry a mobile first aid kit.

3. ROUTE PLANNING
a)    ensures that drivers are provided with either route maps or directions to and from venues.
b) ensures that there is safe passage for vehicles entering and exiting the camp site (liaising with the Safety Officer, if appointed).

4. CHURCH PARADE TRANSPORT
a) the Transport Officer will liaise with the CO regarding the timings to transport the camp to and from the drop-off and collection points.
b) the most efficient method of transporting the camp will be planned and seats will be allocated on cars and mini-buses by consulting the drivers.
c) enough time should be calculated to get the camp to the drop-off point in time for the parade and band to assemble and move off in time to reach the Church allowing at least 10 minutes arrival before the Church Service starts.
d) it is a matter of urgency that the whole camp is mobilised to travel to and from the Church Parade venue.

5. TRANSPORT OFFICER'S REMIT
a) the Transport Officer is only responsible for transport during Camp.
b) individual Companies are responsible for transport to and from Camp.

The Transport Officer is accountable to the Programme Team Leader and the Camp C.O..
