FOLKESTONE RFC

  A Message from Steve Powley

Steve emailed me today and here’s what he said!

Steve Powley here (hopefully you remember me!!) touching base after a long period of no contact – just viewed the Club web site and see lots of the ‘old boys’ still doing a fantastic job – great to see Mr kidson getting deservedly recognised and a position within the County Rugby set up.

We have been in Canada now for some 18 months and are all enjoying the experience – that much we are building a house and I am planning to leave the service in 2009 and stay here. Karen, Hannah and Thomas are well and already accomplished skiers and Ice Hockey players – even I have scored a few goals this season (making the most out of the old body!!!)

I am still involved in rugby coaching for a local team (Canadians, Samoans, Kiwis, Fijians) very diverse and good fun although a very short season of Apr – Sept, the temperature here varies between +35’s in the summer to -35’s in the winter so you can imagine why the season is so short.

I hope all at the Club are well – please give my regards to all that may remember me and wish them good fortune for the rest of the season.

Look forward to hearing from you – I have copied this to my home e-mail address for info also.

Best wishes
