Apart from a trip to the local Spar shop
for provisions (including bottled baked beans and bottled
peas/carrots), we stayed on the camp site all day.
Noteworthy
curiosities of the site ; the man with the huge caravan (not
a stationary) who first mowed his patch (repeatedly, and
for several hours), then used logs to construct several
tripods, which he used to hang lanterns from. I look
forward to seeing them in action after sunset.
This campsite runs entirely on tokens
Little ones with holes in for hot water;
Big ones with holes in for the washing machine;
Little ones (no holes) for the tumble dryer;
Big ones (no holes) for the shower.
We played lots of games;
Cards: Go Boom
Chinese checkers
Chinese Chess: very fiddly, and hard to determine
which piece is which, since they are chinese
characters. A fiendish twist is that the same
pieces have different characters for each player.
Sam and I liked the game. I will make a big
version with pictures on the pieces when we get
home.
A Dutch chap asked me where we were going - then told
me another 'famous' tour of the Netherlands '11 Cities';
thec last one was 'The Circuit' of Lake Ijsslemeer. An
excellent, relaxing day.One slight drawback is that all
this relaxation has given a chance for a few muscular
aches to make themselves apparent.
Tomorrow, we resume the ourney, heading pretty much
due east.
