At Pitstone, we do allocate space where available, for members or organisation to establish their own displays or exhibitions for the open days. One of these display areas is Jim's Sawmill. Jim, a member of the Beds and Bucks Stationary Engine Club as well as the P.I.M.S. that runs the museum, was responsible for the constructional
work for the Crossley Engine room and stayed on afterwards to develop the sawmill.
It has a Lister diesel engine driving a circular saw and Jim demonstrates this on the majority of the open days by making trellis-work and garden items for sale to the public, and occasionally nipping two doors away to fire up the blacksmith forge.
