SCIENCE ROOM.

The Science room is an addition to the existing Military and Vintage Radio rooms and opened to the public for the first time on Easter Monday 2009


Home computers started to appear in the early 1980's and one section is devoted to those like the Sinclair ZX81 though the BBC 'B' to the Archimedes, before the Microsoft PC dominated the market.


Other exhibits included a selection of 19th century brass microscopes, a WWI trench telephone, a WWI crystal set that unbelievably was used in an aircraft and several model engineering exhibits.


These include a 3.5" model of a Britannia Locomotive, a 1/8 scale Alchin Traction Engine, electrical generators, a model internal combustion engine and several other models. Early mechanical calculators, more vintage radio sets and other items cover many aspects of science and engineering.
