Who we are:A group of church leaders who have been meeting regularly since 1996, The group is open to anyone who is in church leadership in Peterborough and the surrounding region. Where we meet:The City Pastors Prayer Breakfast meets at Peterborough Salvation Army (in Bourges Boulevard, New England) every two weeks on a Wednesday morning at 8 am for 8.15 am. What happens:Arrive at 8 am and be greeted with a hot drink. Prayer starts at 8.15 am, led by one of the group, and can take a variety of forms. At 8.45 am breakfast is served and consists of toast and tea, or a full English breakfast, beautifully prepared by the staff at the Salvation Army. People usually leave from 9.15 am onwards. |
City Pastors Prayer Breakfast Report - Wednesday 16 MayPresent: Carol Bailey, Claudio Coquet, Keith Howarth, Gill Jessop, Andy Lanning, Paul Larcombe, Chris Moreton, Lars Pettersen, John Price, Graham Timson, Sharon Walker, David Weeks, David Whitlock, Pauline Wills, Bill Croft. Bill Croft was welcomed and Gill Jessop was welcomed back from her sabbatical. Paul led the prayer with Acts 17:22b-31 - Paul in Athens, using the 'Russ Parkes' Bible-reading style (read a verse(s) and comment as you go):
This opened open prayer for the city of Peterborough with themes of proclamation, religious buildings, repentance, justice and resurrection. Prayers were also said using the latest Peterborough Hope 2008 prayer list and, in particular, for the visit of Laurence Singlehurst on Thursday 17 May. Reminder from Andy Lanning about Prayer for Peterborough Prison:Our first PPP (Prayer for Peterborough Prison) meeting on Tuesday 29th May at The Grace Centre in Midland Rd, Peterborough. The meeting will be from 7.30 - 8.30 pm and will be structured so that people can come into the main hall area, where the various prayer need and thanksgiving posters will be displayed, walk around, pray and then leave freely. Also, there will be tables and chairs for those who like to pray sitting down. Andy |
