City Pastors Prayer Breakfast Report - Wednesday 17 November 2007'Not a matter of talk, but of power'Present: Dennis Bakka, Claudio Coquet, Tim Edworthy, Keith Howarth, Andy Lanning, Paul Larcombe, Chris Moreton, Russ Parkes, Lars Pettersen, John Price, Graham Timson, Sharon Walker Lars led the prayer, setting the scene for a quiet meditation with the words, "Be still." As all present entered into meditation on the scripture, there was a sense of the presence of God, until..... it was apparently broken with the Looney Tunes music emanating from someone's mobile phone! It seemed as if 'that's all folks!', but Lars recovered well and brought a word from 1 Corinthians 4:20: 'For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power.' May that we rest on the power of God... Prayer for the above took place in pairs, before a chorus of 'Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on us' was sung. Thanks to Lars for leading the prayer. |
Future meeting dates:
