Peterborough City Pastors Prayer Breakfast

Who we are:

A group of church leaders who have been meeting regularly since 1996, The group is open to anyone who is in church leadership in Peterborough and the surrounding region.

Where we meet:

The City Pastors Prayer Breakfast meets at Peterborough Salvation Army (in Bourges Boulevard, New England) every two weeks on a Wednesday morning at 8 am for 8.15 am.

What happens:

Arrive at 8 am and be greeted with a hot drink. Prayer starts at 8.15 am, led by one of the group, and can take a variety of forms. At 8.45 am breakfast is served and consists of toast and tea, or a full English breakfast, beautifully prepared by the staff at the Salvation Army. People usually leave from 9.15 am onwards.

'Out of his glorious riches'

Graham Timson led the prayer with Ephesians 3:14-21 'For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all God's people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.'

Graham spoke with great enthusiasm about Hope2008 - its going to be a blessing - Faith will arise - Together with all - With every generation - A great opportunity - Grasp it in prayer.

Comments: This is a kairos moment; It is time to seek favour with authorities; It is time for the detailed-planners.

People also prayed in pairs for one another that 'out of his glorious riches he may strengthen us with power through his Spirit in our inner being'.

Thanks to Graham for leading the prayer and to the Salvation Army for providing a full breakfast despite Carol's absence.
