City Pastors Prayer Breakfast Report - Wednesday 2 May 2007

Present: Graham Timson, David Weeks, Carol Bailey, Keith Howarth, Rod Elston, Tim Edworthy, Dave Whitlock, Chris Moreton, Denis Bakka, Russ Parkes, Lars Pettersen.

Leaflets were given out regarding the forthcoming meetings about HOPE 2008 on Thursday May 17, when there will be a lunchtime and an evening meeting.

Graham Timson invited everyone to get into two's in order to pray for each other about at least one matter for which to thank God, and then one specific need for prayer.

Graham read Psalm 62:5-8 'Find rest O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation....'

  • Regardless of fellowship, we all need to find God as our personal refuge and fortress.
  • We need to get to the place that cannot be shaken; God Himself!
  • He is the place of security, safety, and unburdening.
  • We need the canopy of prayer. One place to find this is the Dwelling Place prayer room.
  • It is like Moses in the tent of meeting. We need to find such a meeting place with God.
  • Corporate prayer can be encouraging as it seems to multiply God's presence.
  • Our Leaders' meetings are one of the safe places.
  • We all need to find those people with whom we can get into the safe place.
  • If we don't find rest in God, we will burn out.
  • Unless God fills us up, we will dry up and run out.
  • Then life becomes like a job or duty.
  • Ministry is NOT a job; it?s GOD'S WORK!

Everyone was invited to pray, in two's, for each other once again.

Future meeting dates:

Wednesday 14 November
Wednesday 28 November
Wednesday 12 December

These are all at the Peterborough Salvation Army in Bourges Boulevard, New England.
