City Pastors Prayer Breakfast Report - Wednesday 25 July 2007'Plan the Rest first'Present: Carol Bailey, Claudio Coquet, Tim Edworthy, Rod Elston, Keith Howarth, Gill Jessop, Andy Lanning, Paul Larcombe, Chris Moreton, Russ Parkes, Lars Pettersen, Graham Timson, David Weeks, David Whitlock, Pauline Wills Tim Edworthy led the prayer for this final Wednesday before the August break. Exodus 20:1-4 'Then God spoke all these words: I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.' The Sabbath day - the fourth commandment - the Sabbath rest was built in to the Ten. Genesis 1 shows that the first day of human existence was a day of rest. Therefore, our priority needs to be to plan the rest first. Those present shared their rest patterns and plans in two's, before praying for each other. Using John 15 'I am the vine' and 'remain in me', people prayed for fruitfulness in all areas. Thanks to Tim for an uplifting time of prayer. |
