City Pastors Prayer Breakfast Report - Wednesday 5 September 2007

'A Letter for You'

Present: Carol Bailey, Keith Howarth, Gill Jessop, Paul Larcombe, Chris Moreton, Russ Parkes, Lars Pettersen, John Price, Sharon Walker, David Whitlock, Pauline Wills, Linford George

Pastor Linford George from the New Testament Church of God, New England was welcomed.

Paul led the prayer beginning with Colossians 1:2-8, during which those present were encouraged to receive as a letter to them personally:

'To the saints, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ at Colosse:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father.
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God's people— the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true word of the gospel that has come to you. In the same way, it is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world— just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God's grace. You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.'

Four prayer stations were then set up in the corners of the room, to pray for:

  • Hope08 event with Roy Crowne on 13 September at Kingsgate
  • Funday on 8 September at the New England Recreation Ground - Lars spoke about the vision as 'freely you have received, freely give'.
  • Churches and church leaders
  • Authorities in the City

Thanks, once again, to Carol, Keith and the Salvation Army for hosting the Prayer Breakfast.

Future meeting dates:

Wednesday 14 November
Wednesday 28 November
Wednesday 12 December

These are all at the Peterborough Salvation Army in Bourges Boulevard, New England.
